This performance piece explores heartbeats through emotional experimentation, opening a window into the frequency of emotions. From extreme vulnerability, the invisible becomes visible, allowing to hear the rhythm of feelings and sense the vibrations caused by the inner movements of the Self.
What does DESIRE sound like through the heart? What does human feeling sound like? From these questions, this sound and performance work unfolds, where experiences and emotional states that provoke DESIRE, lived in a private setting, are exposed to the public. This project, or this total experience, aims at the artivist challenge of making the private public. The feeling will be aesthetically explored within a specific site, with the necessary conditions and triggers to intimately expose ourselves to the lived reality.

The aim is to hybridize bodies, to undo and dilute gender constructs through the sound of two hearts that harbor (and challenge) two distinct social constructs: “woman” and “man.” Can we discern any difference between the sound of the heart in a body socially constructed as female and one socially constructed as male? Are there sonic/biological distinctions? Beyond the spectrum of “humanity,” what frequencies do we share with other beings?
The profound exploration of our internal (cardiac) rhythms also requires a hybrid approach, drawing on disciplines such as biology and cardiology, sound art, installation, bioart, and performance. This sensory-aesthetic research and proposal unfolds as an intimate reality shared within a public context. This sharing allows us to collectively reconsider some of the social constructs that have shaped our hierarchical understanding and experience of ourselves as humans. Through the power of the vulnerability and permeability of our bodily rhythms, orchestrated by the heart, we seek to experience, in community, our shared capacity to be sensitive and sentient beings.
